Ah, Valentine's Day—a day when couples all across the animal kingdom can celebrate their love. Or in the case of two particular sloths, the perfect time to take a leap of faith and move in together.
Jabba and Hope, a pair of two-toed sloths, have been easing into their relationship for a few weeks now in side-by-side enclosures at Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo. After spending years hanging in his bachelor pad, Jabba's zoologist buddies thought it was about time for him to meet a nice girl and settle down. So they decided to play matchmaker and casually introduced him to Hope, a total babe from Michigan’s John Ball Zoo. (With claws like hers, it's amazing she was still single.)
While the lovebirds definitely aren't rushing the relationship, their friends are all crossing their fingers hoping for some little baby sloths down the road. Oh, to be furry, young and in love.
