We thought we’d seen it all when it comes to Instagram poses, but we were so wrong. The latest trend: Barbie feet, which is basically standing on one’s tippy-toes while arching and pointing. The (uncomfortable) purpose of this pose is to make your legs appear longer and more slender in pictures.

Mirroring the permanent stance of a Barbie doll’s tiny, toeless feet, this Instagram pose would be better left to people made of plastic. (But seriously, Babs, you should see a podiatrist about that…)

And guess who’s on board? The Kardashian/Jenners, of course. First dubbed an “epidemic” by Who What Wear UK, the pose not only looks uncomfortable, it most certainly is. It’s basically like wearing high heels made of air. And, obviously, that is a curse we wish upon no one.

One tiny Barbie doll–size step for longer-looking legs, one giant leap for horrible social-media trends.
