Jury duty is never much fun, regardless of whether you spend just one day hanging around the courthouse or actually get picked to serve on a case. There are, however, a few things that can make the whole experience more enjoyable. For example, serving on a panel with former leader of the free world Barack Obama.
Obama was one of 168 people who reported for jury duty today at the Daley Center in Chicago, except unlike the other 167 individuals, his arrival was accompanied by a storm of media personnel and fans.
Ultimately, the former president was dismissed and sent home, perhaps because his charming smile would prove to be too distracting for the counsel and jury members. Or, you know, because he’s already done more than enough civic duty for one lifetime.
