The Backstreet Boys Just Released an Acoustic Version of ‘I Want It That Way’ to Celebrate a Major Anniversary

It may be hard to believe, but our beloved Backstreet Boys released their album, Millennium, on May 18, 1999. Yup, that means it turns 20 years old this week. And the guys are celebrating in the best way possible—with a special acoustic version of their hit I Want It That Way.

The band, consisting of members Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean and Howie Dorough, dropped the new stripped-down version on Friday and we have to say it’s not like anything we’ve ever heard from these guys.

If you didn’t know, I Want It That Way premiered as the lead single off of Millennium, which was the band’s third studio album that sold 1.1 million copies in just the first week of sales. It also featured two other popular hits Larger Than Life and Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely.
