Tayshia Adams Deserves an Award After Tonight’s Episode of ‘The Bachelorette’

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

On tonight’s episode of The Bachelorette, Tayshia Adams had the men competing for her attention. Later on, she confronted the contestants right before the rose ceremony, claiming they’re getting too caught up in unnecessary drama. (#Yikes)

Here’s what happened on season 16, episode seven of The Bachelorette.

ABC/Craig Sjodin

The episode picks up right where we left off in episode six, with Adams inviting seven men—Bennett, Blake, Demar, Ivan, Kenny, Riley and Zac—on a group date. They’re tasked with writing an original love song for the Bachelorette in the hope of winning the grand prize: one-on-one time with Adams. Despite the impressive effort, Ivan takes home the “W.”

Later that night, Ivan joins Adams in her suite, where they bond over a game of “The Floor Is Lava.” They also discussed their shared experience growing up mixed race and the positive impact of the Black Lives Matter movement. She gives him the rose (natch).

After meeting up with Becca Kufrin and Sydney Lotuaco, Adams invites the six men who didn’t win the song competition—Bennett, Blake, Demar, Kenny, Riley and Zac—on another group date. This time, they engage in a vomit-inducing game of “Truth or Dare.” At the end of the night, Zac gets the group date rose.

Before the cocktail party, Ben and Ed sneak away from the group to steal more time with Adams. The catch? Ed accidentally goes to Chris Harrison’s room (not Adams’s), which results in unexpected “boy time.”

Later that night, Adams confronts the men after Noah informs her that the other contestants think she gave him the rose “just to shake things up.”

At the rose ceremony, Adams hands out roses to everyone but Chasen, Joe, Jordan and Kenny.

Regardless of the outcome, we have to hand it to Adams for keeping her cool during this situation. We can only imagine how difficult it must be to get the attention of 15+ men, who are in a heated conversation, let alone look good while doing it. And she did exactly that.

In fact, Adams managed to accomplish the one thing we desperately wanted (but never got) from Clare Crawley: to take control of the situation.

Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is how it’s done. The Bachelorette returns to ABC next Tuesday, December 1, at 8 p.m.
