Chris & Bri Need to Step it Up Ahead of ‘The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart’ Finale if They Want to Win

*Warning: Spoilers ahead*

Last night’s episode of The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart teased the highly anticipated season finale, and one thing’s for sure: Chris and Bri have a lot of work to do if they want to compete with Jamie and Trevor.

During episode five of the popular series, the remaining couples head to Vegas on tour buses (because budget cuts are a real thing). When they arrive, they embark on one-on-one dates, and Jamie drops the L-bomb during an ice-skating excursion. Trevor returns the favor and says he loves her, too.

After the dates, the couples are assigned songs for the next performance, which includes guest judges Evan Ross, Ashlee Simpson, Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham. Everyone does pretty well—except Natascha and Ryan, who perform “Perfect” by Beyoncé and Ed Sheeran. The problem? Natascha forgets to assist Ryan with his microphone, so he’s left to awkwardly strum his guitar with no hands.

To no one’s surprise, they’re sent home later that night at the rose ceremony. Heading into next week’s finale, Chris and Bri might seem like front-runners, since they’re one of the strongest couples. Still, we think it’ll take a miracle for them to pull it off over Jamie and Trevor. Here’s what you need to know.

We think The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart will come down to two final couples: Jamie/Trevor and Chris/Bri. (Let’s be real: Matt isn’t into Rudi.) It would be easy to assume that Chris and Bri have a leg up, since they were the first couple to say, “I love you.”

However, we’re not convinced they have what it takes to win over the judges during the final performance, and it has everything to do with their lack of chemistry on stage. OK, we’re not saying they don’t care about each other—they do. But compared to the rest of the contestants, their performance of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” fell extremely flat.

In fact, all of their performances have lacked that spark. The only reason they made it this far is because Bri dropped the L-bomb during episode four, and what judge would send her home after that?

It’s important to point out that Chris and Bri have the potential to establish a lasting relationship in the real world. However, we don’t think they can fake it on the show as well as Jamie and Trevor, who’ve practically turned the stage into a Hollywood production of The Notebook. (Face grabs and all.)

That being said, Chris and Bri really need to step it up if they want to win the highly coveted prize. The finale of The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart arrives next Monday, May 18, on ABC.
