Release Your Inner Kristy, Claudia or Dawn: ‘The Baby-Sitters Club’ Just Reunited
Break out your scrunchies and overalls and get ready for some major ’90s nostalgia because The Baby-Sitters Club members just reunited.
BSC alums Rachael Leigh Cook (Mary Anne Spier), Larisa Oleynik (Dawn Schafer), Bre Blair (Stacey McGill), Schuyler Fisk (Kristy Thomas) and the movie’s director, Melanie Mayron gathered on Sunday night for a Golden Globes viewing party. Mayron offered to host, Fisk shared an Instagram photo, and voilá, a reunion was born. (It’s unclear if they set up the hangout on their pink rotary phones like old times.)
The costars from the 1995 classic decided to get the gang back together since Fisk, a Texas resident, and Oleynik, a New Yorker, happened to find themselves in L.A. at the same time. Unfortunately, Marla Sokoloff (Cokie Mason), Stacy Linn Ramsower (Mallory Pike), Tricia Joe (Claudia Kishi) and Zelda Harris (Jessi Ramsey) weren’t able to make it.
Cook told Entertainment Tonight, “It’s like no time has passed at all! First of all, these girls look amazing. And I think we all trusted each other enough back then, even as young teens, to behave like our authentic selves. So for better (them) or worse (me), we’re still very similar to the people we were back in 1995.”
The ladies hung out last in Austin, Texas, in 2015, but unfortunately say there are no plans for an official reboot. Guess they’re kinda over babysitting.
