In the teaser, Murphy is shown throwing punches, kicking trash cans and stealing drinks from convenience stores, which is certainly a change of pace from her Schitt’s Creek role. “It’s about a woman who keeps playing the perfect housewife…then one day, she realizes what she wants,” Murphy hauntingly narrates over the trailer.
In a press release from AMC, the show is described as a “dark comedy about a woman who escapes her confines and discovers her rage” and it “probes the secret life of a type of woman we all grew up believing we knew: the sitcom wife.”
Alongside Murphy, its cast will include Eric Peterson, Alex Bonifer, Mary Hollis Inboden and Brian Howe. The series, created and executive produced by Valerie Armstrong with Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, will premiere this summer with 8 hour-long episodes.
There’s nothing we love more than a revenge plot.
