This ‘Schitt’s Creek’ Star Reveals Her Instagram ‘Run-in’ with Zac Efron

If you're a Schitt's Creek fan, then you probably remember Alexis Rose's many anecdotes about her celebrity encounters and worldwide travels.

In these one-offs, Alexis (played by Annie Murphy) name-dropped everyone from Beyoncé to Gwyneth Paltrow. And one of the celebs that Murphy's character references is none other than High School Musical star Zac Efron.

During an episode in season four, Alexis is talking to Stevie (Emily Hampshire) and Rachel (Stacey Farber) about how to text guys, when she reveals, “I used to text Zac Efron just, like, a question mark whenever I wanted a booty call. Poor thing would be, like, buzzing my apartment before I even pressed send.”

Now, it looks like Instagram is trying to bring these stars together in real life, because actress Murphy just posted a screenshot showing that the social media app suggested she follow the Neighbors actor.

In the caption, Murphy joked, “Genuinely thought I was doing okay, and then this happened.”

Fans left many jokes in the comments related to the iconic line, like one user who said, “Wait, you sent ‘?’ to Zac Efron but aren't following him?” Another commented, “Love that for you.”

Murphy actually told Parade late last month that she loves the idea of a Schitt's Creek spinoff series, where viewers get the opportunity to see Alexis go on a bunch of her wild adventures.

“I think what I would like is a full Alexis spinoff where I get to just travel around the world,” she said. “Maybe recreate every single story that I told on Schitt’s Creek, but all of the celebrity name drops have to be a part of the show. It might be a bit of a high price point, which might make Dan [Levy] reluctant, but I’m gonna keep pitching.”

We would absolutely watch that series.
