If you haven’t noticed, Amazon is on a roll. One-hour alcohol delivery? Check. Whole Foods products? Double check. World domination? Not just yet. But while we wait for the inevitable, Amazon Prime will offer a student version of its time- and money-saving program—at half-price.
Amazon Prime Student will be available to anyone with a .edu email address and feature the same free two-day shipping and video streaming services as the full-price version. The only difference? Membership will cost $5.49 a month after a cushy six-month free trial (compared to a 30-day free trial for non-students). If only such a luxury existed when we were in college.
Parents, don’t fret: Your kid is in Prime hands. You might want to hide your credit card, though.
