Stars Hollow Represent! Alexis Bledel and Melissa McCarthy Owned the Creative Arts Emmys
Although Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life wasn’t nominated for a Creative Arts Emmy, former fast-talking costars Alexis Bledel and Melissa McCarthy proved there must be something in the Stars Hollow water.
Not to be confused with the Primetime Emmy Awards (airing this Sunday, September 17, on CBS), the Creative Arts Emmy Awards took place over the weekend, and former Gilmore Girls costars Bledel and McCarthy were both crowned major winners.
First-time nominee Bledel picked up an award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Ofglen in The Handmaid’s Tale, whereas Saturday Night Live host McCarthy brought home the W for Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her unforgettable impersonation of former White House press secretary Sean Spicer. While we would have loved to see a full-blown Gilmore Girls reunion, we’re just glad to see Rory and Sookie back together again.
