Alexandra Breckenridge doesn’t post very often on Instagram, typically reserving her page for glimpses into her life as a mom, behind-the-scenes pictures or cooking lesson videos with her Virgin River co-star, Martin Henderson. But last week, the 39-year-old actress penned a heartfelt message to express how thankful she is for unconditional support from her fans.
The post featured a close-up selfie of the actress staring directly at the camera. The caption read, “Some mornings I have to step back and remind myself how lucky I am for this life that I live. It’s not been as [rose emoji] as it looks from the outside world. But today is what you choose to make of it. And today I’m greatful for all that I have and all that I am.”
Fans immediately filled the comments section with words of support. One person wrote, “Your words are inspiring. Thank you for the reminder to appreciate each and everyday and what they bring. Best wishes always to you and your family!” Another added, “A nice reminder that not everything is as perfect as social media makes it appear to be! You are beautiful inside and out!”
This past year has been a good one for Breckenridge, who currently stars as Melinda 'Mel' Monroe on Virgin River. (FYI: The show centers around Mel, a nurse practitioner who moves to the remote town for a fresh start.) When the third season of her romantic drama series dropped on Netflix this past July, it quickly reached number one on the site's list of top shows, raking in millions of viewers in its first month. Just recently, the streaming service renewed the series for two more seasons.
Prior to starring on Virgin River, Breckenridge appeared in a variety of shows, playing everything from a ghostly maid on American Horror Story to an ambitious reporter on Dirt. She also made appearances in projects like She's the Man, Big Fat Liar and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Oh, and how could we forget about her role as Sophie on This Is Us?
One thing’s for sure: Breckenridge has a lot to celebrate.
