9-Year-Old ‘Minari’ Star Alan Kim Just Stole the Oscars Red Carpet

The 93rd annual Academy Awards are officially underway. And while we’ve only seen a handful of celebs on the red carpet so far, we think we’ve already found our favorite look. The fashion icon? 9-year-old Alan Kim.

For his Oscars debut, the Minari star looked chic in a tuxedo jacket, shorts and a black bow tie. He topped off his look with a pair of mismatched socks, one solid and the other with white stripes. The young actor’s ensemble was from designer Thom Brown, who has created most of his looks for this year’s awards season.

Kim shared his look before stepping onto the carpet in a sweet post on his personal social media page. “It’s time for the Oscars, but first I have to walk Cream. Now it’s off to the show!” he captioned the slideshow of himself walking his pup.

In addition to his ensemble, Kim also made sure to showcase his outgoing personality. During an interview on E!’s Live from the Red Carpet, the young actor revealed that he recently celebrated his 9th birthday and received a Fitbit, an iPad and a brand-new bike.

The Academy gave Minari multiple nominations, but unfortunately, they didn’t nominate Kim—something that could have made history. If they did, the talented 9-year-old, who played David in the film, would have been one of the youngest-ever Oscar nominee.

We’ll officially be keeping our eyes peeled for more of Alan’s first Oscar moments.
