One of Adele's Favorite Teachers Makes Surprise Appearance at Her Show (and Adele's Reaction Is Priceless)

Earlier this month during Adele's One Night Only CBS special, a man stunned his girlfriend of seven years by proposing to her in the middle of Adele's first live set in five years.

And while the proposal was one of the best moments of the “Hello” singer's show, it turns out that she's not the only one who can pull off a good surprise.

Adele recently held another performance that was televised through iTV, and she got a major surprise partway through the show when actress Emma Thompson asked the singer a question. Thompson said, “My question is: When you were younger, was there someone who kind of supported you and inspired you, or sort of, you know, protected you from all the trials and tribulations of life and inspired you to sort of go on?”

In response to Thompson's question, Adele said, “Yeah, I had a teacher at Chestnut Grove who taught me English. That was Miss McDonald.” However, Adele revealed that they quickly lost touch because McDonald left the school a year after they met. “She got me really into literature,” the singer said.

Upon hearing this, Thompson responded, “Yeah, cause it's odd actually, funny enough,” and then the camera pans to McDonald, who starts walking toward the stage.

iTV shared the moment on their Twitter saying, “We all have that one teacher who changed our life… such a beautiful reunion!”

Adele's reaction is priceless, as she immediately begins to cry when she spots her former teacher. When McDonald climbs the stage, the two hug and she tells Adele, “Oh my god, I'm so proud of you.” To which Adele says, “I didn't know that you were coming!” And McDonald goes, “That's OK. It was supposed to be a surprise!”

The singer was crying so much that she jokingly said, “Oh, and now I've got to get my whole face redone.” But following the moment, the singer actually had to exit the stage momentarily to get her makeup touched up.

To promote her new album, 30, Adele has been doing all kinds of special events, including a tell-all interview with Oprah and now two televised musical sets.
