We Can't Stop Thinking About Adele's Schiaparelli Dress & Celestial Earrings from Last Night's Performance

Last night was quite eventful for Adele fans.

The 33-year-old singer participated in an exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey, where she talked about everything from her divorce and motherhood to her new album and the future of her songwriting.

Along with the candid discussion, Adele gave her first live performance in five years, singing in front of a group of some of her closest celebrity friends, including major names like Drake, Melissa McCarthy, Tracee Ellis Ross, James Corden and more.

But while there was so much to unpack, one thing we can't stop thinking about is the out-of-this-world ensemble that Adele rocked during her musical set. While the “Someone Like You” singer described it as her “mermaid dress,” she really looked like a walking galaxy on stage.

Adele was seen in a custom haute couture gown from Schiaparelli that looked like a black vortex captured in a piece of fabric. The design was courtesy of Schiaparelli's creative director, Daniel Roseberry, and the outfit was styled by Jamie Mizrahi. The label detailed the dress on their official Instagram account, saying, “Adele wore a black silk faille draped dress with a black moon rock embroidered bustier and custom Saturn pendant earrings.”

All the astronomical touches on Adele's outfit—like her Saturn earrings and her bustier that looked like a night sky—were fitting given that she gave her performance in front of the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles.

As one user also pointed out in the comments of Schiaparelli's post, Adele's earrings perfectly matched the Saturn tattoo that she has on her right arm. The singer explained the meaning of this tattoo during an interview with Vogue, where she said it is meant to represent the astrological concept of a “Saturn return.”

“Then I hit my Saturn return,” she said. “It’s where I lost the plot.” The concept of a Saturn return is that it takes the planet Saturn about 28 to 30 years to return to the position it was at when you were born.

“When that comes, it can rock your life,” the singer noted. “It shakes you up a bit. Who am I? What do I want to do? What makes me truly happy? All those things.”

Before last night, Adele had previously collaborated with Schiaparelli when she wore the stunning two-tone dress that she showed off on Instagram back in September.

These two are a match made in heaven.
