It’s Official: Gordo Is Joining the New ‘Lizzie McGuire’ Revival

It appears Disney has a picture-perfect plan for the Lizzie McGuire reboot.

Adam Lamberg will reprise his role as Lizzie’s BFF, David “Gordo” Gordon, in the all-new Disney+ series.

Although we already knew Hilary Duff (Lizzie), Hallie Todd (Jo), Robert Carradine (Sam) and Jake Thomas (Matt) would return for the reboot, we hadn’t received any news about the sarcastic character…until now.

In a statement, Duff admitted that it would be difficult to revive the series without her beloved co-star.

“Gordo was an essential piece of the puzzle to what made the original Lizzie McGuire so authentic and beloved,” she said, according to Yahoo! News. “I couldn’t imagine the series without him. I can’t wait for fans to see what he’s up to 15 years later and how he fits into Lizzie’s adult world.”

The new Lizzie McGuire series will follow the memorable character as she navigates her 30s as an interior decorator’s apprentice. We don’t know what Gordo is doing with his adult life (at least not yet), though we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s something along the lines of “professional hacky sacker.”

Terri Minsky, who created the original show, will act as showrunner for the reboot. Duff will also serve as an executive producer alongside Rachel Winter (Dallas Buyers Club).

Although Disney already confirmed that Lizzie is engaged to a mystery man, we can’t help but wonder if Gordo still has a crush on the titular character. *Crosses fingers*
