Hold onto your bidi bidi bom bom, because we have the most amazing TV news.
According to Deadline, there’s a Selena Quintanilla–inspired series in the works, and ABC just picked up the pilot. Although we still don’t have a title, we do have a few details about the forthcoming show.
For starters, the show will focus on Alex Guerra, “a chart-topping, award-winning pop star who has been estranged from her family for five years. She tries to pick up the pieces when a crisis forces her to return home to Texas, juggling a love triangle, the demands of her career and the dark secrets of the family that she now desperately wants to win back.” So…yeah, we’re already hooked.
The project is written by Miguel Nolla of Scandal and produced by Selena’s family members (Abraham Quintanilla Jr. and Suzette Quintanilla Arriaga).
Is it too much to ask that J. Lo reprise the role? We have our fingers (and toes and arms and legs) crossed.
