Here They Go Again! ABBA Is Releasing New Music for the First Time in 35 Years
Dancing queens and chiquititas, rejoice! ABBA has some major news.
For the first time in 35 years, the Swedish pop group is releasing new music, and all we can say is gimme, gimme, gimme. ABBA issued a statement on Instagram today to announce their return.
ABBA wrote, “The decision to go ahead with the exciting ABBA avatar tour project had an unexpected consequence. We all four felt that, after some 35 years, it could be fun to join forces again and go into the recording studio. So we did. And it was like time had stood still and that we had only been away on a short holiday. An extremely joyful experience!”
They went on to explain, “It resulted in two new songs and one of them ‘I Still Have Faith In You’ will be performed by our digital selves in a TV special produced by NBC and the BBC aimed for broadcasting in December. We may have come of age, but the song is new. And it feels good.”
No word yet on when the TV special will air or the new music will drop, but we’re already dusting off our disco ball in preparation.
Bring on the dancing queens, holograms and spandex unitards.
