If you have yet to get over the fact that Hallmark pulled, like, every single one of its binge-worthy holiday movies from Netflix, then feast your eyes on the next best thing: A Christmas Prince.
Netflix and Lifetime teamed up to release the streaming service’s very first original holiday film, A Christmas Prince, and it pretty much has everything we love about Cinderella and The Prince & Me wrapped up into one little streaming present.
A Christmas Prince tells the story of a young journalist, Amber (Rose McIver), who goes undercover to learn more about Prince Richard (Ben Lamb) and his less-than-ideal reputation. But—whaddaya know—Amber can’t resist the prince’s charm and ends up falling for him, all while trying to hide why she came to the palace in the first place.
Sans the whole undercover journalist bit, the film’s plot sounds awfully familiar to a modern-day love story involving Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, don’t ya think?
