It didn’t take long for a young Vanessa DeLeon to realize that her burgeoning career in fashion just wasn’t for her. Determined to find her true calling, she moved home to help with her family’s furniture business, quickly seeing that her eye for style and attention to detail would serve her well in the world of interior design. Now the principal designer at her namesake firm, as well as a beloved TV personality and blogger, Vanessa brings her signature minimalist meets glam aesthetic to residential, commercial and hospitality projects alike. Here, a few fun facts about the design maven.
On how she found her way. "After I worked for my grandfather's furniture business, clients started asking if I could decorate their homes. In a matter of months, my calendar was slammed with new clientele! I quit my full-time job at Ralph Lauren, and at the age of 20, applied for my first LLC and started my own design business full-time."
On how she decompresses. "Spending time with my hubby and puppy at home in Edgewater, New Jersey. We love to jog along the Hudson and take in the beautiful Manhattan Skyline."
On the two rules she never breaks. "Never burn bridges, because you never know when you might have to cross them again. And always, always dress for success."
