This Is the Biggest Holiday Decor Trend of 2017
There’s a time and place for going overboard on decor, and it’s clearly the candy cane-topped, fairy light-festooned whirlwind of the holiday season.
But if Pinterest’s holiday data report is any indication of what’s actually trending (psst, it is), the hottest trend du jour is just the opposite. “Naked greenery” search is up 379 percent this season—meaning wreaths, tabletop decor, even Christmas trees themselves are losing the embellishments and letting their lush, verdant greenness do all the talking.
And really it’s no great surprise. This rustic, hyper-edited aesthetic perfectly synthesizes the two premier decor trends of the year: hygge Scandinavian interiors and the simplicity of modern farmhouse style.
We know, we know: You've got a garage filled to the gills with Santa's workshop baubles and bits. If nothing else, consider this your kick in the pants to edit it down already, woman.
