How to (Sneakily) Double Your Living Room Seating

Is your living room more “tiny box” than “open-concept”?  Same, same, girl. But that doesn’t mean we can’t optimize it for entertaining anyway. Here’s how to take your living room seating from five to ten—without cluttering things up or changing your floor plan.

Step 1: Swap your tables for stools.
Accent tables are chic and all, but accent stools are chic and sturdy enough to sit on.

Step 2: Use the clearance under your coffee table.
That spare foot or two beneath is valuable real estate: Use it as a home for poufs, cushions or low-lying stools that can be pulled out in a pinch.

Step 3: Delineate with a bench.
A slim, airy bench will do double duty as a visual room divider and overflow seating when needed.
