So you scored a sweet little brass antique for a song at the flea market. Only problem is…God only knows what kind of dirt is crusted on that thing. Rather than running around town trying to find just the right cleaner, all you need to do is open your fridge--and pull out some yogurt. Here's how to clean brass naturally.

What you need:

All you need to clean your tarnished brass piece is plain yogurt, one damp rag, two clean rags and a sink. Then, you're ready to go!

Step 1: Wipe down the item with your rag.

Make sure the rag is a little damp!

Step 2: Dip a clean rag into the yogurt and get to rubbing.

Basically go to town until your bowl, candlesticks, lamp, whatever is shiny and new.

Step 3: Take the second clean rag and wipe off any excess dairy. Wash the piece with hot soapy water, and then buff it dry.

And just like that, you're done. So, why does this work? The yogurt's lactic acid eats away at tarnish and brings your brass back to its former glory. You're welcome!
