Herron Clothier’s beautiful wall tapestries
Want to make any room feel more inviting, fast? Hang a wall tapestry.
Fabric art gives an instant hit of hominess to any interior. And textile designer Dee Clements, of Chicago-based Herron Clothier, makes the gorgeous fiber wall hangings we?re currently coveting.
One of her largest masterpieces is the one-of-a-kind hanging shown above, which Clements made from cotton and wool using a wide floor loom. The piece is for sale for $1,200 at Humboldt House, a vintage modern home shop in Humboldt Park.
With a few months? advance notice--her schedule is packed with projects for clients like CB2 and the coming-soon Freehand Hotel--Clements can custom-make a wall hanging to suit any house or budget. (Check out several of her pieces priced at $500 or less at Asrai Garden in Wicker Park.) ??
Hang one amid a collage of framed photos and prints and, voilà, it?s a perfect gallery wall.
