The Super-Smart Way to Clean Your Iron So It Stops Staining Your Blouses
Full steam ahead
An iron is one of the best tools in your grown-ass-woman arsenal. But if it’s covered in gook, it does you little good. (Hi, sticky brown scorch stain.) Here, how to clean that gross and gunky residue once and for all.
What you need: A sheet of paper, table salt and a damp cloth
What you do: Sprinkle a generous amount of salt on the piece of paper and run your hot iron over it a couple of times. Then unplug the iron and let it cool before wiping it down with the cloth.
Why it works: The build-up and grime will actually stick to the salt so that, when you wipe it down, the dirt comes right off.
