5 pro decorating tips to make the most of your yard or patio

Go Monochrome with a Pop of Color
Start by sticking to one color scheme for larger items--it makes designing simple. Then add color in the form of accent pieces--an umbrella, bouquet of flowers, potted plants, even an accent wall--to add flair.

Buy in Multiples
For decorative pieces, buy several pieces that are similar to one another, such as these mirrors. An assemblage gives your space a sense of unity and looks like a carefully curated collection.
People tend to forget lighting but it’s as easy as putting up string lights or a statement pendant to elevate the space and let you linger outside long after the sun goes down.
And Look Down
Outdoor carpets can really warm up a space. They add color, texture and personality and are especially welcome if you’re lacking greenery.
