How to Build Your Own Fruit Fly Trap
It takes two minutes
That bowl filled with peaches and bananas and apples on your kitchen counter looks so pretty--minus the pesky infestation of fruit flies swarming around it. Before you give up and put the whole thing in the fridge, why not show those bugs who’s boss by building your own (all-natural) fruit fly trap? Here’s how:
What you need: A small glass, apple cider vinegar, dish soap and plastic wrap.
What you do: Fill the glass with about 1/4 cup of vinegar. Add a drop of dish soap, then cover the surface with plastic wrap and poke a few holes through the top.
How it works: Those itty-bitty buggers just can’t resist that apple cider scent--they'll think it’s the real deal and fly right through the top. As soon as they hit the water, they’re stuck.
Which means: Good riddance.
