Here’s the situation: You’re late for a morning meeting, and Toodles still hasn’t been out for her pre-breakfast stroll.
Enter Wag, an on-demand mobile app where pet owners can hire fully trained, insured and background-checked walkers. Think of it as Uber for your furry friend.
Get started by downloading the iPhone app and filling out the basics--your dog’s name, age, breed and demeanor. Choose a desired walk time in your neighborhood, from right-now requests to planning days or weeks in advance. Then choose from about 75 registered walkers. Users can even plan a “meet and greet” in advance for extra screening.
Once you’ve selected a walker, schedule a 30 to 60-minute jaunt--$20 per 30 minutes--and enter any additional notes about your pet (she will beeline for the mailman). Then go about your day.
The app notifies you once your pup has been picked up and you can check out the route in real time via a GPS “puppy tracker.” You’ll also get a detailed report card afterward including a picture, map of the walk, behavior report and whether your dog did a #1 or #2.
Although that’s really TMI if you ask us.
