3-D Flooring Is Now a Thing
Coming to a kitchen near you
If you’ve ever wished your bedroom had an ocean view, well, we’ve got good news.
Presenting: 3-D flooring.
This new design trend makes it possible to print photos of your favorite underwater scenes--or really whatever--that look like they have eerie 3-D depth.
The process requires a special printer and a transparent 3-D coating and involves taking a static 2-D image and making it look like it’s jumping off the floor. (Think: the effect of your favorite 3-D movie, but no fancy glasses required.)
One company in Dubai offers the floors for a cool $550 per square meter, but the service is taking off around the globe, which should cause prices to drop over time.
A little vertigo-inducing? Sure. But also kind of awesome? Absolutely.
