Here’s What to Cook Every Night This Week (May 17 – 23)
1 pint cherry tomatoes
2 ounces arugula
2 apples, sweet or sour (we recommend Gala or Honeycrisp)
1 small onion
1 bell pepper
1 medium sweet potato
1 pound asparagus
2 bunches Lacinato kale
1 bunch scallions, for serving
1 bunch leeks
4 strips bacon
18 ounces heavy cream
4 ounces grated Parmesan cheese
2 sticks butter
Sour cream, for serving
18 ounces buttermilk
8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
18 ounces milk
8 ounces fontina cheese
2 ounces Gruyère cheese
6 ounces goat cheese
6 ounces old-fashioned oats
1 loaf bread
Canned and Packaged Goods
1 ball pizza dough
One 9-inch pie crust
Pantry Ingredients: garlic powder, freshly ground black pepper, olive oil, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, cumin, chili powder, dark brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, garlic salt, Dijon mustard
Monday: Breakfast Pizza
Tuesday: Apple Blinchiki (russian Pancakes)
Traditional blinchiki is similar to crepes, but this version has grated apples in the batter to make it heartier. Serve them with sour cream and sour cherry spread, if you can find some (if not, preserves or apple sauce will work just fine).
Wednesday: Savory Cheese Waffles
These cheddar beauties have limitless flexibility. Use two waffle quarters to make a breakfast or cold-cut sandwich, add a few slices of cheese and press for a waffle grilled cheese, or just nosh on them with a side salad.
Thursday: 30-minute Breakfast Hash With Kale And Sweet Potatoes
A nutritious meal that comes together in 30 minutes and in a single skillet? Now, that’s a dinner we can get behind. It’s pretty darn easy on the eyes, too.
Friday: Cherry-almond Baked Oatmeal
Eggs have saved our life more times than we can count, but this one-bowl wonder is just as satiating. If you want to save time, feel free to assemble the dish the morning or night before you plan to eat it, so all you have to do when the time comes is pop it in the oven.
Saturday: Joanna Gaines’s Asparagus And Fontina Quiche
Sunday: Leek, Kale And Goat Cheese Strata
A strata is basically a layered casserole made with eggs, cheese and bread. Here, we pour a creamy, mustard-infused egg custard over sautéed leeks, goat cheese and bread cubes and let it infuse overnight before baking to golden-brown perfection.
