NYC's Best Summer Seafood Boils

Every season has its perfect pair. Think: autumn and pumpkin spice, spring and rhubarb.

And summer? It's all about the seafood--especially messy, hand-shucking clambakes and crab boils.

We found eight spots around NYC that are dishing out all-you-can-eat corn on the cob, crawfish and more. Time to get crackin’.

For a feast with a view: Brooklyn Crab
You can never go wrong with Red Hook’s three-story seafood shack. Our menu pick: the Brooklyn Crab Royale for Two, which includes an overflowing bucket of Alaskan and snow crabs, along with a hefty Maine lobster. 24 Reed St., Brooklyn; 718-643-2722 or brooklyncrab.com

For a taste of Maryland: Back Forty West
Enjoy an Old Bay-seasoned boil in this Soho spot’s outdoor garden any Tuesday night throughout the summer. A $50 ticket gets you a generous bucket of spiced crab, corn on the cob, corn bread and boiled potatoes. Then opt in for pitchers of Harpoon Summer Ale to wash it all down. 70 Prince St. (at Crosby St.); 212-219-8570 or backfortynyc.com

For a trip to Cajun country: Claw Daddy’s
Claw Daddy’s is the closest you’ll get to Louisiana without leaving NYC. Choose your seafood from the selection of crustaceans (from crawfish and shrimp to king crab and clams), pick for a sauce (we suggest the original Cajun) and kick up the spice to your liking. 185 Orchard St. (at Houston St.); 646-590-6816 or clawdaddysnyc.com

For a Caribbean twist: Miss Lily’s 7A
This beloved Jamaican spot puts a Caribbean twist on a Creole tradition with jerk-crab boils every Monday evening through Labor Day. For $38 you’ll get bowls teeming with jerk-style blue crabs, corn, potatoes, banana pudding and specials on buckets of Red Stipe. 109 Ave. A (at Seventh St.); 212-812-1482 or misslilys.com

For crawfish and craft cocktails: Porchlight
Head to Danny Meyer’s Southern-inspired bar for weekly “Summer Sundays ’til Sundown,” featuring all-you-can-eat Louisiana crawfish, corn on the cob, potatoes, mushrooms and andouille sausage for a pretty easy $25 a person. 271 11th Ave. (at 27th St.); 212-981-6188 or porchlightbar.com

For $1 oysters on the side: Mermaid Inn
Trusty oyster bar the Mermaid Inn is shelling out crab boils every Wednesday night through September 16. Head to any of its three locations, grab a bib and partake in steamed Maryland blue crabs, jalapeño corn bread and Old Bay potatoes for $26 a person. Bonus: If you get there before 7 p.m., you can also get your hands on dollar oysters. Locations in the East Village, West Village and Upper West Side; themermaidnyc.com

For Japanese fusion: Dassara Brooklyn Ramen
Dassara Brooklyn Ramen is joining forces with seafood market Aqua Best for a special summer dish. The Japanese-Creole-fusion boil will be on the daily menu through Labor Day and feature a rotating selection of shellfish prepared with sauces like Old Tokyo Bay Rub, yuzu citrus and black pepper and sake. 271 Smith St., Brooklyn; 718-643-0781 or dassara.com

For a one-off evening: Butter & Scotch
Buy your tickets in advance, then head to Butter & Scotch on Monday, July 20, for a Maryland Blue Crab boil, prepared by Smorgasburg-favorite chef Renae Holland. For $35, you’ll get your hands on half a dozen crabs and all the fixings.
