Matcha is having a serious moment right now. So when Liang Shi, matcha expert and co-founder of the Dessert Goals Festival (happening August 19 and 20 in Brooklyn, New York), introduced us to her Mint Matcha Fizz recipe, we knew we had found our new signature drink. The best part: It’s easy to make on your own. Click to watch the master at work.
What You Need:
- 1½ teaspoons matcha
- 1 ounce water
- 1 ounce simple syrup
- Fresh mint leaves
- Sparkling water
Step 1: Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Use a strainer to distribute the matcha evenly into the shaker.
Step 2: Add the water and simple syrup.
Step 3: Gently tear mint leaves in half and add to the mix.
Step 4: Shake thoroughly until well combined. Then pour over ice and top it off with a splash of sparkling water.
