Sure, Chicago has the Field Museum, Second City and the Cubs, but it will hit its cultural peak this Saturday, November 5, at the Mac & Cheese Fest.
Yep, 50 local chefs will put their special twist on what’s arguably an already perfect meal. From the more refined takes on the dish (like caviar mac and cheese) to the creative experiments (like mac-and-cheese ice cream), you can be there to taste them all and get to see who takes home the coveted “Golden Noodle.”
Here are all the details: Nab a ticket for one of the two sessions—lunch (from 12 to 3 p.m.) or dinner (from 6 to 9 p.m.)—at the University of Illinois Chicago Forum (725 W. Roosevelt Rd.). A general admission ticket is $65 and includes all-you-can-taste mac and cheese and five drink tickets for beer, wine and spirits.
Just remember: Come hungry. You have a lot of work to do.
