No one likes waiting in line, whether you’re stuck in traffic or at the grocery store checkout. But sometimes, patience pays off when the prize is something awesome, like a dozen gourmet cookies the size of your head. Case in point: Last Crumb, a cookie company that requires dessert lovers to join a waitlist before they can get their hands on a box of their signature confections. Trust us when we say they’re so worth the wait.
This Gourmet Cookie Box Is So Exclusive That There’s a Waitlist to Get One

Since Los Angeles-based sweets company Last Crumb launched in August 2020, its mission has been to serve your sweet tooth exclusive, over-the-top cookies that you can’t get anywhere else. Its 12 core flavors range from gourmet-ified classics—like the peanut butter-chocolate Madonna—to creative mashups (like the malt ball- and Oreo-stuffed James Dean) that you’ve never seen before.
Of course, you can’t get your dessert-loving paws on cookies this special at any given moment: Last Crumb uses a “drop” model for its cookie shipments, releasing them weekly in limited quantities, much like luxury streetwear companies. To try a box yourself, you’ll have to add your email to waitlist. But the upside is that there’s no virtual “line”—if your name is on the waitlist, you have just as much of a chance to get a box as people who registered before you that week.
This exclusive cookie club has won the hearts of cookie lovers and celebs alike, including Chrissy Teigen. And it’s no surprise why, since the treats are handmade in L.A. using a proprietary three-day dough preparation process, not to mention a slew of inventive, quality mix-ins. Each flavor—from Better Than S*x chocolate chip to 50 Cent birthday cake—is unbelievably moist, fudgy and decadent. The cookies arrive individually wrapped in a chic box, so you can take your time noshing on each one without worrying about the rest going stale. (P.S., they’re pretty damn massive, so you may want to split them with a few friends…or not, we won’t judge.)
There are a limited number of boxes shipped directly to consumers every week. While the set is a bit pricey at about $12 a cookie, we feel it’s worth every penny if you love a wide range of cookie flavors and love trying new things. This box is also all about the experience as much as it is the cookies themselves: The shipment includes a handy (and delightfully snarky) guide to all the flavors that tells you the inspiration and ingredients that go into each one. Reading along while tasting made eating the cookies that much more fun for us (and it took the stress out of figuring out what order to devour them all in).
If you’re not convinced yet, read on for deets on three of our favorite flavors.
Best Classic Flavor: Macadamnia
We’re no stranger to white chocolate-macadamia nut cookies. But this version made with brown butter, salted caramel and flaky salt breathes new life into the old-school confection. The nuts are toasted prior to being added to the dough, so they’re crisp and lightly caramelized. The nuttiness of the butter also drives home the cozy flavor of the O.G. In short, it’s a sweet-and-salty masterpiece.
Best Unconventional Flavor: Donkey Kong
Behold: banana cream pie in cookie form. Gooey marshmallows, rich vanilla pudding, white chocolate, vanilla wafers and bananas unite for a positively mind-blowing treat that will leave you speechless (besides all the oohing and aahing, of course). It’s no wonder Last Crumb’s head chef calls it the best of the bunch. (It tastes even better with a glass of ice-cold milk, BTW.)
Best Overall: Not Today Mr. Muffin Man
While the Donkey Kong knocked our socks off, this blueberry muffin-inspired cookie is legitimately flawless. It’s our favorite not only because of its spot-on flavor (hello, wild Maine blueberries and brown sugar streusel), but its texture that strikes a 50/50 balance between crumbly, light muffin and doughy, fudgy cookie. We also love that the blueberries are both tossed in whole and turned into a deep purple puree that’s swirled into the cookie. We’d trek to Drury Lane to thank the Muffin Man ourselves if we could.
*Our final taste score was based on the average of all 12 cookie taste scores.
