The Surprising Breakfast Jennifer Aniston Swears by in Order to Feel Full Until Lunch

If you have a hard time staying full until lunchtime, you’re so not alone. The key to a more satisfying breakfast is protein, but that doesn’t mean you have to scarf down a massive omelet on the daily before heading out the door. Just take it from Jennifer Aniston, who shared her clever trick for staying satiated all morning long with Elle.

Aniston is best known for playing Rachel Green on Friends. To us foodies, her famous chocolate-cherry protein smoothie and namesake salad (which she, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow used to eat for lunch every day on set) rival her iconic role. But her ingenious oatmeal hack might just be our favorite recipe yet.

“When I wake up, I have warm lemon water and then I have a shake or avocado and eggs, which is one of my favorites,” Aniston says. “I sprinkle a little coconut oil on that. Sometimes I’ll have a puffed millet cereal with a banana, or I’ll do oatmeal with an egg white whipped in at the end.”

It might not sound delicious at first but hear her out. She swears by the hack, an astute trick taught to her by her ex-husband Justin Theroux.

“He taught me that little move to get extra protein! Right before [the oatmeal] is finished cooking, you just whip in an egg white and it kind of gives it this fluffy texture that’s delicious,” she explains.

You could definitely mix in a whole egg instead if you’d prefer but using just the white likely makes the addition essentially undetectable. Aerating the white with a whisk prior to pouring it into the oatmeal makes for a puffier, thicker oatmeal that’s bound to keep you full longer.

It works for souffle eggs, meringue and pancakes, so why not oats? In Rachel Green we trust.
