Like most TikTok trends (we see you, baked feta pasta), pasta chips didn’t originate on the app. According to Today, TikToker and food blogger Emily Chan, aka @bostonfoodgram, found the recipe on Delish before sharing her version on the app in April. From there, it spread like soft butter on a piece of toast—her video now has 2.1 million views, and there are more than 700 million searches for #pastachips on TikTok.
What kind of pasta should you use?
Any pasta shape can be turned into a pasta chip, but you’ll want to choose short, easily dippable shapes over long noodles (unless you want to eat crunchy strands of spaghetti—you do you). Some highly chippable shapes include:

How to make pasta chips in the air fryer:
8 ounces pasta (such as rigatoni or ziti)
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
¼ to ½ cup grated Parmesan
