This delicious dessert cocktail combines two of our favorite things, gingerbread cookies and bourbon, all in one handy little glass. Talk about a happy holiday.
What You Need:
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon allspice
- 1 tablespoon molasses
- 1 cup water
- 2 ounces bourbon
- 4 ounces hot water
- 1 slice of lemon
- Orange peel for garnish
Step 1: Make the gingerbread syrup by combining the sugar, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, molasses and water in a small pot over medium heat.
Step 2: Bring to a boil while stirring constantly with a whisk. Let the syrup boil for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
Step 3: Pour the bourbon, hot water and 1 ounce of gingerbread syrup into a mug or glass.
Step 4: Finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon and an orange peel for garnish. Cheers!
