The first night that Greenwich village institution Carbone announced that you could eat their beloved Italian food from the comfort of your couch, Thompson Street looked like a street fair full of TryCaviar’s delivery staff. Two weeks ago, it was almost impossible to snag a reservation at this upscale hotspot by Major Food Group. If there’s any silver lining to our current state of affairs, it’s that now is your chance to devour a big bowl of Carbone’s spicy vodka rigatoni, and in your pajamas no less. You can also order other dishes like veal parmesan and meatballs, but we all know the star of the show here.

Despite stalking Resy almost every weekend for a coveted reservation, it has been almost impossible to snag a seat at Rezdôra since it opened last year. Now, however, you can order in their antipasto, decadent pastas and even bottles of wine through Caviar. This small Flatiron eatery specializes in dishes from Italy’s Emilia Romagna region, so pay particular attention to the stuffed pastas and meat sauces. The signature “Grandma Walking Through The Forest,” is one of our absolute favorites. It’s Cappelletti—or little dumpling-shaped pastas – filled with leeks and roasted mushrooms. It’s rustic, earthy, and pairs perfectly with a big, juicy Nebbiolo from Piedmont.

3. Nami Nori
A few months ago, we’d never even heard of temaki, but once Nami Nori opened its doors in the West Village, these handheld sushi rolls became one of the city’s biggest food trends. We were thrilled when we saw Nami Nori is now offering delivery, considering the last time we tried to get two seats on a Friday night the wait was three hours long. The handrolls are made of crispy seaweed in a taco shape, filled with anything from salmon and tomato to spicy tuna and scallion. In our opinion, the best bang for your buck is to order the signature set of five rolls for just $28. You can stop by the restaurant for lunch or dinner takeout, or order delivery with Caviar.

4. Kings County Imperial
This popular Szechuan spot with locations on the Lower East Side and in Williamsburg has always been our go-to restaurant for fun group dinners filled with shareable, seriously spicy plates. While group dinners might be suspended these days, Kings Co Imperial can still make your day better with their comfort food, now available for delivery. The pork soup dumplings are some of the best we’ve ever had in NYC, the sesame noodles might actually be addictive,and the sesame shrimp toast is spectacular. Do yourself a favor and order more than necessary, because there’s nothing quite like leftover Chinese food to get you through the week.

Anton’s first caught our attention when our culinary hero, Ina Garten, posted an Instagram photo of her “amazing birthday dinner” there. This Italian eatery with an old-school feel opened in late 2019, but it was already getting a lot of hype. Anton’s recently adopted a one-of-a-kind takeout and delivery policy: A menu made up of $1 dishes like lasagnettes in ragu, cold poached salmon and spinach ravioli in sage butter (and yes, you read that correctly—$1). The point of the dollar menu is to encourage customers to be extremely generous with gratuity because 100 percent of tips go directly to the kitchen team, so you can eat well and know your dollars are doing some good.

This Israeli restaurant is no longer a newcomer to the Flatiron scene, but it has been a hot ticket since the day it opened. The dishes are creative and some are almost too pretty to eat, but they’re comforting and unpretentious. These days, Nur has a small but mighty menu—three apps, three entrees, and one dessert—that are available for takeaway and delivery. The eggplant carpaccio made with fire roasted eggplant, feta, tahini,and pistachio is a must-try. If you’re thinking strategically, order it with the Jerusalem bagel, a crispy-on-the-outside, doughy-on-the-inside oblong bagel coated in sesame seeds and served with homemade hummus.

7. The Four Horsemen
From the first sip of natural, crisp Frappato we tasted at this cool Williamsburg wine bar, we knew we were hooked. While you can’t sit down in the cozy space for small plates and Pét-Nat right now, you can do the next best thing and pre-order family dinner sets to be picked up from The Four Horsemen. Dinner packages might include flageolet bean soup with kale and roasted chicken with pickled pepper relish. Of course, any of the meals can be ordered with unique bottles of wine that pair perfectly with dinner.

Mark Iacono’s world-renowned Carrol Garden Pizzeria has celebrity status as one of New York’s most iconic restaurants. Lucali is only open for dinner service, but on any given afternoon you’ll find lines forming outside its doors as early as 3 p.m. with determined customers waiting patiently for the wood-fired, thin-crust pies and calzones. These days, Lucali starts accepting take-out orders at 1 p.m. for perfectly charred, doughy cheese pizzas, which are arguably the best in the city. If you live in the neighborhood, you’re in luck, but get there early because they’re bound to sell out fast.

9. Di An Di
Judging by how it was always packed, we’re probably not alone in saying this Greenpoint eatery serves some of our favorite Vietnamese food in the city. And while the delivery menu is limited to a handful of Di An Di’s staple items, you can never go wrong with an order of crispy spring rolls filled with pork, shrimp,and mushrooms followed by a heaping bowl of pho. There’s vegetarian and chicken pho, but we can’t resist the beef version, a savory beef broth with super-tender brisket, rice noodles, basil, lime, and hoisin and chili garlic sauce on the side for dipping.

10. Her Name Is Han
Surrounded by the many BBQ spots that line the streets of Koreatown, Her Name Is Han is stands out from the pack. This trendy spot boasts an extensive menu of comforting Korean soul food, like hearty kimchi and scallion pancakes topped with poached egg and slow cooked pork belly, and sizzling hot pots loaded with everything from shrimp and fish cakes to bulgogi beef and dumplings, all available for delivery. Even better is the fact you can order alcohol to go with your dinner. We’d highly recommend the homemade “sowuju,” pitchers of soju infused with kiwi or grapefruit.

Before our first visit to Rubirosa, we always considered it an upscale pizzeria. But oh, how wrong we were. This Nolita locale is so much more sophisticated than that. The pizzas here are spectacular, especially the tie-dye pies that are topped with a combination of vodka sauce and pesto, but you wouldn’t want to overlook the antipasti and pasta dishes. The meatballs, made with the holy trio of beef, pork and veal, and legendary, the rice balls are a serious situation and the rigatoni with sausage ragu is worth a special mention. P.S.—Almost everything can be made gluten-free!

There’s a good chance you’ve never eaten at Bohemian. That’s because this speakeasy-style Japanese restaurant on Great Jones St., requires calling a secret phone number and getting referred by a previous customer. But today, you can order food from this exclusive spot on Caviar. A meal from Bohemian isn't cheap, but it's a good option for an at-home celebration or just to break up the monotony of cooking in. You'll find dishes like fried uni croquettes, wagyu beef rolls and udon curry. Not to mention, Bohemian has a handful of pre-made cocktails that can be delivered to your door. We're big fans of the Noho Sling, a zesty gin and sake-based cocktail with shiso, grapefruit and yuzu.

13. Le Crocodile
French Brasserie, Le Crocodile just opened earlier this year and immediately made a splash. Located in the Wythe Hotel, this second spot by the team behind Chez Ma Tante, is easily serving some of the best French food in the city. While you can’t take your pick from Le Crocodile’s entire menu, which is usually about 50 items long, they are offering a selection of comforting dinners for two (think: perfectly roasted chicken or roasted squash tagine with couscous), which can be reheated at home. They’re also delivering wine and pre-made cocktails to spice up dinnertime.
