Adding cheese to a salad is a total no-brainer. But we bet you haven’t thought of making the entire bowl out of cheese. You read that right. Here’s how to make the most inventive salad you’ve ever seen.
What You Need
- a block of hard Parmesan cheese
- a cheese grater
- parchment paper
- a small, flat-bottomed bowl
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F. While it warms up, grate the parm so you have roughly 1/3 to 1/2 cup shredded cheese for each bowl. You can add a little more if you want to make them larger, or do less for a more bite-size snack.
Step 2: Sprinkle the cheese onto squares of parchment paper in a circle so that the shreds are fairly evenly distributed (meaning no large holes or big piles of cheese).
Step 3: Place the parchment squares on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F until bubbly, about 10 minutes.
Step 4: Place the parm pallet onto the top of a small, flat-bottomed bowl and gently press down on the edges to create a curve. Let them cool while sitting on the bowls.
Step 5: Toss together a salad of your choice, then impress all your friends and family with your adorable (and edible) salad bowls.
