Finally, There’s a Festival Dedicated Entirely to Dessert
What a time to be alive
Just as we’re finally picking the last sprinkles out of our pockets from the Museum of Ice Cream, there’s a new event about to make all our sweet-tooth dreams come true. Dessert Goals, the city’s first-ever fest focused entirely on sugary treats, is set to descend on Greenpoint Sunday, October 23.
So what happens at a dessert festival? Well, for starters, the idea is “to make every guest feel like Charlie when he won the golden ticket” (and hopefully not also like Charlie on that terrifying boat ride). And, because Instagrammability is paramount (hey, we’re all thinking it), the whole thing takes place at a gorgeous Brooklyn venue.
But let’s get to the good stuff: the actual sweets. As of now, the lineup includes bubble tea from Boba Guys, ice-cream sandwiches from Melt Bakery, dragonfruit bowls from Baba Cool (hey, that sounds kinda healthy), cakes and truffles from Mini Melanie, inventive flavors of mochi from Mochidoki and glorious ice-cream-topped Hong Kong waffles from Wowfulls. If that’s not already sending you into a sugar-craving frenzy, the fest will be announcing at least a dozen more vendors over the next few weeks.
(Golden) tickets go on sale Tuesday, September 13, and we have a feeling they’ll go fast. Mark your calendar—then maybe make a dentist appointment for October 24.
