6 Chicago Restaurants to Order-In Some (or All) of Your Thanksgiving Feast
There’s no “I” in turkey
You’ve done the Thanksgiving where you’ve toiled away all day only to overcook your bird and drop your pumpkin pie. Avert all disasters, and give yourself some peace of mind, by ordering in your entire dinner from one of these six great restaurants. There’s no shame in delegating.
Hey, North Shore folks, this one’s for you. While we love the mussels here on a Saturday night, this Lettuce Entertain You restaurant also pulls off an elevated Thanksgiving feast. Think butternut squash ravioli, rosemary and sage stuffing, and roasted Vermont turkey. You can dine in ($40 per person, but kids are half price) or carry out ($36 per person).

PRAIRIE GRASS CAFÉ
Why take the chance of another dry turkey this year? Let a two-time James Beard Foundation Award-winning chef make you a dinner of seasonal, local and sustainable food. Eat there or order a la carte everything from a whole or half roasted turkey with gravy to jumbo cocktail shrimp with horseradish sauce, brussels sprouts with bacon and chestnuts and, of course, homemade pumpkin pie.

GODDESS AND GROCER
Starting Tuesday, November 22, you can pick up your choice of mouthwatering sides (like curried cauliflower and apple soup, crab cakes, whipped mashed potatoes and creamy mac and cheese) and entrees that think outside the turkey (veggie potpie and beef tenderloin) and, OK yes, and a whole roasted turkey. You can also order dinner for 12 ($395). Heating instructions included.

There’s more than one way to cook a turkey. And one of those is slow and smoked. Pick up yours ($65 to $90) from this Wicker Park mainstay. You can also take home a bunch of sides (think corn-bread stuffing and buttermilk biscuits) and even a Bloody Mary bar with Tito’s vodka, garnishes and all the cups and straws. One and done, done right.

The cuisine is inspired by the pioneers who traveled out West and the creative ways they prepared their food—how thematically spot-on. Order a whole smoked turkey ($75 to $95), the famous mac and cheese (pictured), grilled seasonal veggies, buttered rolls and more.
Deadline for ordering: Monday, November 21. Email Annie@pioneertaverngroup.com to place an order.
Bring on the big, awesome Southern feast sans any of the cooking. A meal for eight includes a whole smoked turkey, corn-bread-and-sage stuffing, mashed potatoes, country gravy, cranberry sauce and an autumn salad. Oh, but that’s just the beginning—the add-ons include everything from sweet ’tater fluff to coconut cream pie. We suggest stretch pants.
