So, just in time for the season, we’ve rounded up ten of our favorite refreshers, from Blue Bottle’s New Orleans-style classic to a maraschino cherry stunner. Bottoms up.

10. JAPANESE ICED COFFEE FROM REPOSE

Kind of a cross between standard iced coffee and cold brew, this thirst quencher uses the Japanese technique of brewing hot, pouring immediately over ice and then refrigerating. Think bold, concentrated flavor and a big jolt of caffeine.

9. FOUR BARREL NITRO COLD BREW COFFEE FROM FOUNDATION CAFÉ

This cold brew is redefining happy hour. Poured straight from the tap, the nitro has a head like a Guinness and a subtle effervescence—no ice required.

8. ICED ALMAC LATTE FROM SAINT FRANK COFFEE

Nope, it’s not a typo. This nutty latte is made with Little Brother espresso and house-made almond macadamia milk—perfect for daydreaming about lying on the beach in Hawaii.

7. CHERRY BOMB FROM RITUAL COFFEE ROASTERS

What do you get when you mix your favorite childhood mocktail with cold-brew coffee? Ritual’s signature Cherry Bomb, a delightful drink made with maraschino syrup and tonic water and topped with a maraschino cherry, à la the Shirley Temples of your youth, of course. The only catch: You’ll have to go to Ritual’s Flora Grubb Gardens café in Bayview to get it.

6. MAPLEWOOD COLD BREW FROM PROVENDER COFFEE + FOOD

Sightglass cold brew is poured over ice and blended with milk, maple syrup and a dash of maple extract—when a regular old iced coffee simply won’t do.

5. COLD-BREW COFFEE FLOAT FROM SIGHTGLASS

What’s that you say? There’s an affogato bar at the Sightglass in SoMa? That’s right, folks, and they’re serving up delicious iced vanilla cold brew with your choice of Salt & Straw ice cream and a splash of soda. We’ll see you there.

4. MARY’S HORCHATA COLD BREW FROM COFFEE BAR

3. SNOWY PLOVER FROM ANDYTOWN COFFEE ROASTERS

Named after the tiny birds flitting around Ocean Beach, this soon-to-be cult classic is an artful blend of sparkling water, simple syrup and ice with two shots of espresso—plus a healthy dollop of house-made whipped cream. It’s weird in a good way. A really good way.
