Boozy milkshakes
Dutch Apple pie + ice cream + liqueur = heaven.

It’s the sad ballad of the holiday season--that slightly stale piece of leftover pie just sitting there days later.

Well, now it can be the jewel in your boozy milkshake. The local chefs that make Marie Callender’s frozen pies have invented pie-cycling.

Here’s how you do it: Just throw a piece of pie into the blender along with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a cup of milk and a shot of liquor. Pour and top with whipped cream. For a banana-cream-pie shake, you might use rum liqueur; for a cherry-almond-pie version, opt for whipped-cream vodka.

While the idea comes from the Marie Callender’s test kitchen, you can sub in any pie. So enjoy your spiked milkshake and feel virtuous for not letting a delicious dish go to waste.
