The Best Healthy, Fast Lunches in NYC (That Aren’t Pret)
Shredded cauliflower and charred broccoli FTW
You zoomed through your meetings, turned your TPS reports in on time and even successfully made small talk with Gary in accounting.
For lunch, you deserve so much more than a wilted, leftover salad from two nights ago. So treat yourself to these seven healthy, fast and tasty-as-hell lunch spots in the city.
We’ve finally kicked our addiction to Chipotle (one day at a time, people), and it’s all thanks to this new bowl bursting with Indian flavors. Try the “not rice,” (some sort of tasty wizardry made from shredded cauliflower and Brussels sprouts) and top it with hormone- and antibiotic-free chicken, roasted cauliflower, mint, cucumber, tomato and cilantro. Fake rice never tasted so good.

DIG INN SEASONAL MARKET
There’s nothing technically wrong with eating the same romaine salad with tomato, cucumber and feta every day, but this organic eatery has a rotating selection of organic, locally sourced mains and sides for about ten bucks a meal. The Brussels sprouts with spiced coconut oil and orange peel confit are what dreams are made of.

Craving fast food for lunch? The guac burger at this West Village vegan spot is as healthy, hearty and delicious as it gets. The patty is made of sweet potato, quinoa and black beans and topped with a chipotle aioli and a healthy helping of guacamole. Best news ever: There’s a new location opening in Flatiron this spring.

With new locations popping up all over the city, it’s safe to say this D.C. salad joint featuring ingredients sourced from local farmers is officially a hit in the Big Apple. We’re partial to the kale Caesar, but you really can’t go wrong with any of the made-to-order salads here (especially when they include crushed tortilla chips).

The lines get long around lunchtime, but distract yourself on Instagram and you’ll zoom through before you know it. The falafel salad can be customized with hummus, couscous, red cabbage slaw, roti rice and tons of other flavorful Mediterranean ingredients.
