The 6 Best New Spots in the Hamptons
Eat, drink and nurse that hangover
Many of the places we loved last year will undoubtedly be popular again this summer. (We’re coming for ya, Ruschmeyer’s.) But what about all the new places popping up in the Hamptons? We know your weekends out east are precious, so here are six spots worth a visit, from the best beachside dining to the best cup of joe.
Overpriced but damn delicious, Philippe returns to the Hamptons after closing shop in 2010. The star-chef-run eatery is also responsible for The Club at Philippe, an entirely new venture, to help you dance off all those satay skewers.

Best Outdoor Party
Daytime at The Harbor, located directly on, well, the harbor, means docking your boat, laying your blanket on the sand, enjoying a game of bocce and sipping rosé with lunch. After the sun sets, expect beach parties with craft cocktails and a mix of ’80s, ’90s, indieand old-school hip-hop dance music.
440 W. Lake Dr., Montauk; 631-668-8260
Best Casual Vibes
The Saltbox Restaurant and Bar, which is housed in the space that was formerly O’Murphy’s Pub, is a laid-back seafood shack perfect for those days when you don’t want to deal with long waits or reservations. The 70-seat spot serves lunch, happy hour and dinner along with “saltboxes” to go.
99 Edgemere St., Montauk; 631-238-5727
Best Oceanfront Escape
Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa just opened five new venues: two restaurants, a coffee shop, The Regent Cocktail Club (a spinoff of the Miami original) and Scarpetta Beach (the beachfront version of the Meatpacking District location). When it comes to selection, it’s hard to compete.
Best Chance of Spotting a Real Housewife
The Capri Hotel’s nightlife and restaurant venues have a notoriously short life span (RIP, Pink Elephant and BLT Steak). Now Beautique is taking their shot with an offshoot of their Manhattan location. Expect lots of young Europeans and the Real Housewives who love them.
