Stir Market
At lunch, Stir Market kills it with sandwiches and roast veggies.

Talk about multitasking: Our favorite new dining spot is also a gourmet grocer.

Think of the just-opened Stir Market as a slice of European culinary charm right on Beverly Boulevard--a sleek, white-tiled food hall that’s basically a smaller version of New York’s Eataly.

On our recent early evening visit, we perused the tightly curated wine and beer list, then enjoyed a Paso Robles-brewed pilsner ($7) with the Fairfax Veg ($12), a charred flatbread heaped with quinoa-chickpea croquette, edamame hummus and feta. Our companion’s salmon ($15), served over an arugula-and-herb salad with blood orange, was lightly grilled to perfection.

Now on to the shopping: Half the fun of a meal here is prowling the shelves for packaged goodies to take home later--pots of spice rubs made by the chef (from $12), bags of dried chickpeas ($7) and artisanal beef jerky ($9).

Open 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., Stir Market is the spot we’re counting on to keep our larder stocked, big time.
