Find a Wine You Actually Like
You can stop whining now.

Picture the scene: You walk into Wines ’R’ Us, innocently looking for a good Chardonnay. You get overwhelmed, can’t find a clerk in sight and end up picking whatever has the prettiest label (for under $10, natch).

There’s a better way. It’s called the Kingston Wine Co. share.

The duo behind the shop in Hudson Valley, New York, Michael and Theresa Drapkin, pride themselves on stocking wines from independent vineyards (think Chianti made by two brothers in a village outside Florence versus some supermarket swill). And now they’ve just introduced a delivery service that brings those very bottles right to your doorstep.

Here’s how it works: for $35 a month (plus shipping), you’ll receive two expertly selected bottles with profiles of the growers and accompanying recipes by Alice Waters and Mark Bittman.

The packages, called shares, have kitschy names: the Adventurer (think small-batch rosés or far-flung Champagnes); Farmhouse Reds (for Merlot and Pinot Noir lovers) and the Dirt (the stinky cheeses of the wine world). Shares ship the first Monday of every month and typically arrive at your place within three days.

But what if you know you want all Cabs, all the time? For an extra ten bucks, the Drapkins will customize shares for specific preferences. The kookier the taste, the better.
