Cake for Breakfast
And milkshakes with rum at a new local bar
Eat cake for breakfast.
No, this is not a motivational Pinterest quote. We’re talking real-life, sprinkles-covered slices that you can buy at 7 a.m.
Introducing Butter & Scotch.
It’s the new brick-and-mortar location from “drunk bakers” Allison Kave and Keavy Blueher, whom you may know from Smorgasburg or the cookbook First Prize Pies (or, ya know, your friends here at PureWow).
Part-bakery, part-bar, the Crown Heights space opens early (7 a.m., weekdays), stays up late (2 a.m., weekends) and slings some pretty unexpected treats. There are desserts of course (like lemon-lavender cupcakes), booze (one Marsala Manhattan, please) and desserts with booze (everything from their famous bourbon-ginger pecan pie to rum milkshakes).
And we haven’t even gotten to the dill cheese balls and sesame-chili popcorn with movie butter.
Pop by for a spontaneous drink and a snack, or call in advance to order, say, a dozen cupcakes for your coworker’s birthday. Whatever you need Butter & Scotch for, think of it like Cheers with s’mores pie.
