Skinny jeans have always been my least favorite clothing item to buy. I’d either have to settle for bunching denim at my ankles, thanks to my on-the-shorter-side legs, or sacrifice breathing room up top for a shorter length. That is, until I found Torrid’s Bombshell Skinny line of plus-size jeans.
Torrid, a brand dedicated solely to plus-size clothing, has been championed for its flattering and size-inclusive fashions for some time now. Whether you’re in the market for boyfriend jeans or jeggings, it’s pretty much guaranteed you’ll find something that fits your body shape just right, as long as you’re between sizes 10 to 30. But the newer Bombshell Skinny is truly life-changing, as it’s expertly designed to enhance your curves and showcase your natural figure, all without cutting off your circulation in the process (what a concept!).
First of all, Torrid offers short, regular and tall sizes, so say goodbye to all that extra fabric pooling around your ankles. In my experience, the jeans run very true to size in the waist; odds are you'll only need to figure out your ideal length. The jeans are also flexible and roomy, allowing for bulky calves and shapely thighs to *finally* shine. Secondly, the shockingly soft, high-rise pants are equipped with an inner elastic waistband (!!!), which makes them so much comfier than the rigid denim you’re used to. (If the button or zipper of your jeans are always being smushed into your stomach, especially when you sit down, this waistband is your saving grace.) Thirdly, there’s compression mesh paneling that smooths out lumps and bumps in the belly area, meaning you can wear these beauties with a loose tee or a tucked-in blouse.
The best part, though, is the stitched back yoke and small pockets on the rear of the jeans. I don’t know what kind of curve-loving sorcery goes into stitching it together, but it’s literally like a free butt lift that requires nothing but your natural goodies. Plus, the fabric is super supportive, which offers your booty some additional lift, while the side seams and pockets are designed to round and shape the junk in the trunk you’re already packing.
