These Spanx Workout Leggings Are the Only Black Leggings That Aren’t a Dog Hair Magnet

Anyone who has a dog that sheds knows the struggle of finding an outfit that won't attract every last piece of fur. I happen to have a sand-colored pup with needle-like fur that lodges itself into black leggings and requires multiple sheets of a lint roller to be completely removed. And it has never been more evident now that we’ve become coworkers and roommates, joined at the hip 24/7.

When I tried on Spanx's Every.Wear Active Icon Leggings, I assumed they'd be like every other pair of black leggings I own: comfy as hell, but alas, a fur magnet. However, this pair was so damn buttery, I threw caution to the wind and wore them on day one of quarantine. When I got up off the couch (after King Lou had been using my leg as a pillow), I realized not one spear of his fur was stuck into the fabric. Now, I'm used to that being the case with the more slick, shiny, leather-looking leggings on the market. But your everyday stretchy workout leggings? Never.

It must be the Spanx Performance Fabric—it's not shiny, but it's definitely smooth as silk and super opaque. It has a holds-you-in fit like you'd expect from a shapewear brand like Spanx, but it's still breathable and surprisingly stretchy (without being suffocating). Then there's the waistband- and center seam-free design that doesn't roll or dig in anywhere unpleasant. At a semi-petite 5-foot-4, I often have trouble with leggings bunching at the ankle. Not this pair—they hit the sweet spot just above the ankle bone. Oh, and I've even washed them and they're still just as fur-repelling.

True, I'm not sure what day it is, or if I'll ever workout outside of my living room again, but at least I've found one item that brings me total, anxiety-free joy. I haven't actually worked out in them, because I want to get as many days of wear out of them as possible between washes. But if you have a dog and are constantly lint rolling, these Spanx leggings are the answer.
